Situated in the beautiful surroundings of the leafy Harrogate suburbs, the client approached Clearly Automated, following a recommendation, to request an easy to use whole house automation system throughout the open plan ground floor, first floor bedrooms, top floor entertainment room and into the garden.
Interior design was the main focus of this house and any system employed had to work with the design and not interfere with it. Clearly Automated developed a very good working relationship with the client’s interior designer to ensure the technology was invisible, while at the same time providing all the features required.
Starting in the open plan accommodation area on the ground floor, the key to the audio system installed here was to hide the subwoofers in the fabric of the walls. This gave the family plenty of bass in this area, but without the need for large black boxes intruding into the room. The downstairs entertainment system was extended out into the garden, providing a fluid transition as the family and guests move outside for summer parties.
Moving upstairs, the audio and video system and centrally controlled lighting was extended into the four bedrooms and landing area. The top floor of the property features a pool room with bar area, ideal for the children and parents to relax in, listening to music from the whole house audio system, simply controlled via their iPhones and Android devices. At the touch of button, a curtain wall within the pool room moves to reveal a hidden media room containing its own home cinema equipment. An 85” TV with an unobtrusive soundbar was recessed into the wall to maintain a pleasing aesthetic, augmented by two powerful subwoofers and high-quality home cinema amplifier. It’s the perfect escape for the family to retreat to, where they can relax watching their favourite movies.
