Clearly Automated is proud to announce that we’ve been awarded Best Palladiom, Sivoia QS or Triathlon Shading Project at the 2021 Lutron Excellence Awards, recognising outstanding global achievement in lighting and shading design.
The award was announced on 17th November, placing Clearly Automated among an elite group of just 120 Lutron dealers worldwide who have received an Excellence Award since the programme began in 2003.
In 2021, we were also one of only two winners in the United Kingdom, reinforcing our position as one of the leading Lutron installers in the UK.

About the Award-Winning Installation
The award recognised a bespoke smart home installation in Ullswater, Cumbria. It featured custom-designed shading solutions, Lutron lighting control, and a fully automated cinema room with seating for up to eight people.
The project included a range of architectural and engineering challenges — particularly the large apex window, which was frameless with a narrow centre mullion and no crossbars. The client requested a completely hidden solution with no visible blind frame, barrel, or hardware, whether open or closed.
To meet the specification, we designed two bespoke trapezoid blinds driven by Lutron QS motors mounted into the floor, with top springs concealed inside Roller 64 pockets. Since the client wanted a single fabric specification throughout the home, we worked closely with Mermet to ensure matching material was supplied to both Lutron and the specialist manufacturer producing the custom apex system.
Throughout the property, skylights required 230v tensioned blinds due to size and shape. By powering these from Lutron motor modules, we enabled seamless synchronised movement across every blind in the system.
At the core of the installation is a HomeWorks QS system, paired with Lutron keypads, the Lutron Connect app, and complementary Crestron touchscreens, giving the homeowner complete control over lighting and shading from any location.
The cinema room delivers a full Dolby Atmos experience, using a 7-4-2 speaker configuration, all controlled via a Crestron control system integrated with Lutron lighting scenes for effortless immersion.
